"Open The Door," released in 2000, is ex-Supertramp singer Roger Hodgson's first solo album of studio material since 1987's "Hai Hai" (there was also his 1997 release, "Rites Of Passage," but that was a live album). This record is a brilliant return for Roger, filled with his same magic touch for melody, catchy hooks, and powerful, dramatic rock that made his work with Supertramp so special. Great songs from end to end, like the beautiful "Along Came Mary," the poppish "Hungry," the simple-but-memorable "The Garden," and the awesome extended pieces, "Death And A Zoo" and the title song, the latter of which reminds me of the old Supertramp favorite, "Fool's Overture." Hodgson's classic falsetto voice remains in pristine condition, his playing & songwriting simply wonderful. "Open The Door" is a must for the Roger Hodgson/Supertramp faithful.

In the Eye of the Storm is the first solo album by former Supertramp member Roger Hodgson. The album itself was only moderately successful, stalling at number 46 in the Billboard album charts and only reaching number 70 in the UK Albums Chart. It performed far better in Canada, going platinum within a month of its release. The album received a positive review from Allmusic, who stated that the album's key quality is that Hodgson plays the vast majority of the instruments himself. They also noted that though the music itself lacks any progressive rock elements, "The spirit of traditional progressive rock experimentation is alive on this album; five of the seven songs exceed six minutes."

“… This is an impressive debut by a guitarist from whom I except to hear much more in the future. It is a lasting tribute to Pierre Dørge’s musicality that the freedom of exploration is based strongly on melodic purity and a rhythmic vitality which shines throughout an album of many emotional colours .” (Chris Sheridan)

Vocalist/guitarist Roger Hodgson must have really felt stifled toward the end of his tenure in Supertramp in the early '80s – despite co-writing and singing many of the band's biggest hits – because his solo debut, 1984's In the Eye of the Storm, is a remarkable work of explosive creativity…

It seems like a minor miracle that Evanescence released their second album at all, given the behind-the-scenes toil and trouble that surrounded the aftermath of their 2003 debut, Fallen, turning into an unexpected blockbuster. Actually, so much drama followed Evanescence that it's hardly the same band anymore…

The "first lady" of Egyptian cinema, Faten Hamama, plays here the role of the young ardent and enthusiastic heroine who is dominated by her old fashioned father. He is trying to force her into an unwanted marriage. The advent of the revolution in 1952 and the introduction of new ideals of liberty help her overcome old traditions. She matures into an independent young woman able to find her true love based on solid new values.
