This collection of rarities from the Sceptor vaults strengthens the case for the Shirelles to be considered the finest of the girl groups of the 60s. Lost & Found succinctly describes this rare collection of Shirelles material. The remastering job is excellent here and equally fine on all other Shirelles collections re-issued on the Ace label. Hooray!!!!

This is the expanded 'I Got Kinda Lost' unofficial Big Star box set. Previously this set contained four discs and was jam packed with all kinds of Big Star related tracks. Like the previous incarnations of 'I Got Kinda Lost', this expanded 2013 release attempts to tell the story chronologically of Big Star through their studio outtakes and alternate versions by keeping it more Big Star centric through the prism of Chris Bell and Alex Chilton - the architects of the band.

Something New: Motown Lost & Found is an overview of Wells working with nearly every producer at the label, from Smokey Robinson to Holland-Dozier-Holland to Berry Gordy. Among the unreleased songs are newly discovered duets with Marvin Gaye and the young Supremes, as well as sessions for an unfinished standards album with the Four Tops. The collection also includes 24 songs issued after Wells left Motown and three more rare duets with Gaye, all in stereo mixes for the first time.

Although the Misunderstood were among the best obscure psychedelic bands – indeed, among the best obscure '60s rock bands of any kind – they barely got to record anything before tragic circumstances broke them up. The discovery of this bunch of previously unknown mid-'60s acetates, then, was big news to psychedelic rock aficionados, though most of this actually comes from their garage R&B days rather than the psychedelic peak they attained with their late-1966 lineup. The first nine of these 14 tracks come from sessions spanning mid-1965 to early 1966, and show them as a ferocious, above-average moody raw R&B-based group, somewhat in the mold of a more guitar-oriented Animals.

The America of 2037 is a country distracted by, infatuated with, and addicted to Arcadia. The brainchild of reclusive genius Juan Diego Reyes, Arcadia is a wickedly immersive, all-encompassing social-media platform and virtual-reality interface. Although Arcadia has made the Reyes family fabulously wealthy, it’s left them—and the rest of the country—impoverished of that rare currency: intimacy. When Juan Diego mysteriously vanishes, the consequences shatter the lives of the entire Reyes clan…

This double CD of Pentangle's BBC recordings is comprised primarily of rare and previously unheard tracks. From 1968 to 1973 Pentangle were prolific session guests on BBC radio, their unique fusion of sounds providing access to programmes covering folk, pop and progressive rock. When BBC cupboards were trawled for these recordings in the early nineties they were almost bare - a mere handful of tracks survived in the tape archive (released on the band of joy/strange fruit labels). Here at last, with previously unreleased songs among classics from all six of their albums, is a representative history of the Pentangle at the BBC. The accompanying 12 page booklet includes comprehensive liner notes, a full discography of Pentangle's BBC recordings, and several rare photographs.

Jo Stafford was one of the Greatest and most popular Female Vocalists of the Pre-Rock and Roll era and beyond. Perfect diction, immaculate phrasing, and a tone as clear as a bell were Jo’s calling cards during a five-decade career. "It Had to Be You: Lost Radio Recordings" presents a treasure trove of 24 1950-1951 performances from The Carnation Contented Hour. Completely unreleased recordings featuring Jo interpreting songs, like “Ain’t Misbehavin’”, “Dream a Little Dream of Me”, and “I’ve Got the World on a String”, that were big hits for other artists. These tracks come from tape sources, not transcription discs, and therefore are Studio Quality.
