Richard Barone, the singer/songwriter/musician best known as the frontman of the New Jersey-based indie band The Bongos, has released a new solo album with a self-explanatory title: Sorrows & Promises: Greenwich Village In the 1960s. On the 12-track recording, Barone revisits and reimagines songs originally associated with artists such as Fred Neil (“The Other Side of This Life”), John Sebastian and the Lovin’ Spoonful (who guests on his own “Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind”), Phil Ochs (“When I’m Gone”), Tim Hardin (“Don’t Make Promises”), Eric Andersen (“Close the Door Lightly When You Go”), Janis Ian (“Sweet Misery”) and, of course, Bob Dylan (“I’ll Keep It With Mine”).

From the legendary, elegant big band dance parties in iconic nightclubs of Port-au-Prince to the rhythms of the countryside; from accordion-driven meringue and Vodou-derived drum patterns, to hypnotic tenor sax arrangements and psychedelic interpretations of folklore, the music of 1960's, '70's, & '80's Haiti enjoys a royal repute across the Caribbean, West Africa, and the Colombian coast.

It was a good meeting, and the soul singers of the disco soul singer was in 1981, and her name is Esther Williams, and in this group there is another soul singer, who is known as Esther Williams. In one story, there are 32 African-American women who carry the name of Esther Williams. Classic Rock, we find big names like Queen, Elvis Presley, Santana, Rod Stewart or Lou Reed, who live with other songs that have gone beyond their own interpreters. It is true anthems, thanks to soundtracks or advertisements, have reached many generations. This is the case of My Sharona, Heat of the Moment and You Never Can Tell, Chuck Berry. Golden Hits have grouped all those songs that already have the status of immortals, such that, despite the passage of time, still excited and enjoying it like the first day. Timeless pieces like Unchained Melody, When a Man Loves a Woman or What a Wonderful World, share "rows" with legends such as Aretha Franklin, The Beach Boys, Otis Redding, and the voices disappeared recently Etta James and Scott McKenzie.

This may well be considered a late review, however, this is another great 70's collection. Ok, again, collectors of music from this era will, like myself have most if not all the tracks on board, perhaps many times over, for me it's all about the play-list (order of play) which freshens up listening to many, many favourite sounds from the 70's. I have to say nearly all the tracks on-board are truly some of the great sounds we all remember and love from that time.
