Swedish metallers MEAN STREAK, founded by bassist Peter Andersson in 2008, stand for traditional, classic heavy metal that, according to the biography on the band's website , comes “straight from the heart”, which is something that generally goes down extremely well, not just over here in Europe but also in Japan. It is therefore hardly surprising that the Swedes' 2009 debut was met with a lot of interest, received good reviews in some of the leading magazines and got a fair amount of airplay, including on Bruce Dickinson's Rock Show on BBC 6. Now, eight years later, MEAN STREAK's fourth studio album called Blind Faith will be on the shelves in Europe on June 2, in Japan on May 31 and in the USA on June 16. The ingredients of MEAN STREAK's latest opus are exactly what you expect from a band dedicated to “classic metal”: driving up-tempo beats, neck-breaking mid-tempo grooves, virtuoso guitar shredding, long drawn-out epic melodies and soaring vocals.
Mean Streak declare war. The band´s new album Declaration Of War is the first one to feature new lead guitarists Patrik Gardberg (Solution 45) & David Andersson (Soilwork). The epic songwriting combined with the mind blowing twin guitar assault gives you an album that takes their NWOBHM sound to an even higher level than before. The 11 brand new tracks on Declaration Of War contain all the classic trademarks of an 80's style record with breathtaking vocals & skilful musicianship all wrapped together in a very strong and modern sounding production.
The Night Flight Orchestra (Soilwork, Arch Enemy, etc.) have announced a May 19th release date through Nuclear Blast for their new album, “Amber Galactic“. Frontman Björn “Speed” Strid (also of Soilwork) commented: ‘Amber Galactic‘ was made during late nights and way too early mornings, when sometimes, in the corner of your eye, you can catch a glimpse of another dimension, where all the women are heartbroken space commanders in evening gowns, the champagne is always free and the drugs won’t hurt you. We wanted to create more than just a listening experience, instead we want it to be an alternative reality. We hope that after listening to ‘Amber Galactic‘, you’ll be wide-eyed, horny and slightly drunk.
