Neck and Neck is a collaborative album by American guitarist Chet Atkins and British singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Knopfler, released on October 9, 1990 by Columbia Records. "Poor Boy Blues" was released as a single, and in 1991 won a Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals. That same year, "So Soft Your Goodbye" won a Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance. Atkins originally recorded "Yakety Axe", a parody of Boots' Randolph's "Yakety Sax", on his 1965 album More of That Guitar Country. This new recording features lyrics and a new arrangement that were composed by Merle Travis…

Another of Chet Atkins' attempts to break into the jazz world during his Columbia period, this recording veers well across the line into new age wallowing of the most innocuous kind. At this point in time, when a record opened with soothing ocean waves, followed by a gentle wash of synths, you could pretty much expect the new age to be lapping at your feet throughout. As he has with so many other genres, Atkins displays an instinctive grasp of this feel-good idiom, though he has to hold back his powers of invention to conform to its clichés and repetitions. Yet even amidst the twittering sound effects and electronic drums of "Up in My Treehouse"…

…The disc of Ame Domnerus, because he is the main actor here, is equally quieted down, contemplating. But it is enough to hear a few notes to shout from the impression: I haven’t heard for a long time such phenomenally captured space, timbres and tonal balance. Even the recording from Garbarek, made by the unequalled ECM, does not come close to the Swedish recording. Or maybe this is the result of the K2 HD mastering? Possible, quite possible. Its signature can be heard – incredibly full, analog, creamy and “dense” sound, where the treble does not act on its own, but is only an elongation of the basic tone. Incredible!…

There was no shortage of good psychedelic albums emerging from England in 1967-1968, but Ogden's Nut Gone Flake is special even within their ranks. The Small Faces had already shown a surprising adaptability to psychedelia with the single "Itchycoo Park" and much of their other 1967 output, but Ogden's Nut Gone Flake pretty much ripped the envelope. British bands had an unusual approach to psychedelia from the get-go, often preferring to assume different musical "personae" on their albums, either feigning actual "roles" in the context of a variety show (as on the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album), or simply as storytellers in the manner of the Pretty Things on S.F. Sorrow, or actor/performers as on the Who's Tommy. The Small Faces tried a little bit of all of these approaches on Ogden's Nut Gone Flake, but they never softened their sound…

Diana Ross, the lead singer for Motown's The Supremes during the 1960s, left the group in 1970 to embark on what would turn out to be a highly successful solo career. She was named the 'Female Entertainer of the Century' in 1976 by Billboard magazine. In 1993, the Guinness Book of World Records declared her to be the most successful female music artist in history due to her U.S. and U.K. success with more hits than any other female artist in the charts. All The Great Hits is a compilation album by Diana Ross originally released in 1981. The album features her duet Endless Love with Lionel Richie which was from a movie with Brooke Shields. This recording has been mastered by the K2 HD format of 24-bit 100kHz, which creates an unbelievable sound surpassing other formats.

Focus here featured virtuoso guitarist Jan Akkerman for the last time, not to work with his long-term writing partner Thijs Van Leer for another ten years. Mother Focus also sees Focus' highly skilled bass player Bert Ruiter try his hand in songwriting. The outcome includes the one of the finest funk tracks on the album – the hilarious "I Need a Bathroom." The album begins with quite possibly the finest track on the album – and maybe the most typical Focus – the titular "Mother Focus." The funky theme underlying the number sets the mood for the rest of the LP with aplomb. Indeed, Mother Focus is far from the usual instrumental material.
