I have been a big fan of Glenn's for many years, and for me the last few albums have been to funky and incomplete. This album shows Glenns Brilliant Vocal and song writing ability. My picks are The Boy Is Chasing The Blues, I'm Your Man and So Much Love To Give. For those of you that are a bit tired of Glenn's last few albums this will knok your socks off !

What can a true Sandra fan say about 18 Greatest Hits, except that it's great and 18 is just too little! This album had the following effect on me; it made me go out and eventually buy all of Sandra's albums, from her first "The Long Play" to her final "Fading Shades'. The songs here are the "gems" of the previous albums, although all of her songs are true "gems". Thanks to her songwriter and husband, Michael Cretu of Enigma, we get to enjoy Euro-pop at it's finest. From her early (1985) "In the heat of the Night" to her later "Don't be aggressive" (1993), one is taken into an abyss of amazing rhythm, melodies, and sheer pleasurable power with the music.

THE CROSS OF CHANGES (ENIGMA 2) is the second studio album by the German musical project Enigma, headed by Romanian-German musician and producer Michael Cretu. The Cross Of Changes is a musical step forward but it nevertheless incorporates all of the instinctive elements that MCMXC a.D. does but in a completely new guise.

This production of Richard Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” was recorded during the Deutsche Oper Berlin’s great tour to Japan in 1993. Directed by Götz Friedrich and conducted by Jiří Kout, this interpretation of the adulterous love between the Cornish knight Tristan and the Irish princess Isolde was a great success. Wagner’s composition of “Tristan und Isolde” was inspired by his love affair with Mathilde Wesendonck and the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer. Widely acknowledged as one of the peaks of the operatic repertoire, this music drama was notable for Wagner’s advanced use of chromaticism, tonality, orchestral colour and harmonic suspension.

Phenomena is a rock concept around a supergroup formed by record producer Tom Galley, Metalhammer magazine founder Wilfried Rimensberger and Tom's brother, Whitesnake guitarist Mel Galley. Contributors were leading rock musicians such as Glenn Hughes, Brian May, Tony Martin and John Wetton amongst others. In a cover story, run by Kerrang! magazine in 1985, Phenomena's production of rock songs based on a story line running through a whole album, attached to artworks and other multi-media aspects was credited for the "return of the concept album" in the 1980s. Phenomena released three albums in the 1980s and early 1990s…

This split LP pairs a sextet led by multi-instrumentalist Sahib Shihab with another under the direction of Herbie Mann. Big names all the way around on this one. On the Shihab session, John Jenkins and Clifford Jordan round out the front line, while Hank Jones, Addison Farmer, and Dannie Richmond hold down the rhythm. Mann, on the other hand, is joined by Phil Woods, Eddie Costa, Joe Puma, Wilbur Ware, and Jerry Segal. Nothing overly surprising here, but one can expect quality performances by all.
