"Iron Maiden", released on April 14, 1980, was their debut album. The songs in this album, "Phantom of the Opera," "Running Free," "Sanctuary" and "Iron Maiden" remain on the set lists of nearly all of the band's concert tours.

As we all know, Iron Maiden is one of the essential names in Heavy Metal. As usual in our successful collection The Many Faces, we submerge ourselves to explore the lesser known works of the band. You will be able to enjoy the work of bassist Steve Harris as producer of the band Slammer. You’ll also hear Stratus, drummer’s Clive Burr band after leaving Maiden. Also included are the big hits of the first two albums of the band (their favorites for many fans) with the voice of Paul Di’Anno, the original singer. All these rarities and more, complete this important album not only for Iron Maiden fans, but also for all hard-rock music lovers…

Just as identifiable as the harmonized guitar leads and operatic vocals, Iron Maiden's mascot, Eddie, is a vital component to the band's persona. Designed by British artist Derek Riggs for Iron Maiden's self-titled debut, Eddie was based on the zombie-like figure that appears on the sleeve of the group's first single, "Running Free." Its hard to believe, but England’s heavy metal group, Iron Maiden has been making records and touring for over 35 years now. Millions of fans worldwide have been rocking out to the band and their ever present mascot “Eddie,” or “Edward the Head.” Originally conceived by artist Derek Riggs, the design came from a mask that the band had been given by one of their friends.
