"Ice Cream Castle" is a 1984 album by The Time. Similar to their previous two albums, this album consists of six tracks in the funk-pop or ballad genre and it was produced and arranged by Prince as "The Starr ★ Company". The album's two biggest hits, "Jungle Love" and "The Bird", were featured in the film Purple Rain and this, along with Day's performance in the movie, catapulted the album up the charts and to a crossover audience. Unfortunately, the band didn't have time to enjoy the success, as they had disbanded by the time the movie was released. Ice Cream Castle produced three singles: "Ice Cream Castles", "Jungle Love", and "The Bird".

A poetic love story that follows Manchester and Noon as they enjoy a long, hot, summer romance. Noon is our narrator, a shy taxidermist who keeps a silent menagerie in the freezer alongside Manchester's ice pops. Manchester documents their affair, creating wonderfully charged images with just a couple of cheap, instamatic cameras. When a wealthy gentleman called Franny discovers Manchester and launches his photography on the art world, the success destroys the beauty of their once idyllic life.

Greenland, one of the last truly wild places, contains a treasure trove of information on Earth's early history embedded in its pristine landscape. Over numerous seasons, William E. Glassley and two fellow geologists traveled there to collect samples and observe rock formations for evidence to prove a contested theory that plate tectonics, the movement of Earth's crust over its molten core, is a much more ancient process than some believed.

Author of such cookery classics as Italian Food and French Provincial Cooking, Elizabeth David (1913-1992) found that the literature of cookery, as well as the practical side, was of absorbing interest, and she studied it throughout her life. Spices, Salt and Aromatics in the English Kitchen was published in 1970, followed by English Bread and Yeast Cookery, for which she won the Glenfiddich Writer of the Year award, in 1977. At the time of her death in 1992 she was working on this equally epic study of the use of ice, the ice-trade and the early days of refrigeration, which was published posthumously in 1994 as Harvest of the Cold Months.
