Gustavus Hindman Miller - 10,000 Dreams Interpreted, Or What's in a Dream: a Scientific And Practical Exposition
Hard Press | ISBN: 978 1406944075 | 03/11/2006 | English | 550 pages | PDF | 1 MB

One man apparently never dreams; another dreams occasionally, and still another more frequently; none atttempt{sic} to interpret their dream, or to observe what follows; therefore, the verdict is, ``There is nothing in dreams.'' (Schopenhauer aptly says: ``No man can see over his own height…. Intellect is invisible to the man who has none.'') The first is like the blind man who denies the existence of light, because he does not perceive it. The second and third resemble the color-blind man, who sees but who persists in calling green blue, and vice versa.

That's right, King! in Swedish, "Kong" rather than "Drottning"! Christina (1626-1689) was the only surviving child of Sweden's greatest monarch Gustavus Adolphus Vasa, who raised her to rule as a king and whose ministers executed his will by crowning the six-year-old girl King! Christina ruled under a regency until age 18, and then personally and earnestly over some eight years until her abdication in 1654. Her involvement in Swedish affair didn't terminate with her abdication, however. She returned to Sweden several times, on the last of which she might well have resumed her throne but for her whimsical conversion to Catholicism. She also drew her wealth, in her initial years in Italy, from vast estates in Sweden.

The Politics of Recorded Sound (Social Text) by Gustavus Stadler
English | Mar 10, 2010 | ISBN: 0822367300 | 146 Pages | PDF | 4 MB

This issue of Social Text offers fresh perspectives on the study of sound, music, and politics by centering its attention on recording. The contributors to “The Politics of Recorded Sound” seek to tell a broader story, both politically and historically, about the role of recording in modernity, moving beyond the usual focus on music alone, and portraying it as dialectically engaged with historical formations of race, gender, labor, disability, and nation.

The Thirty Years War continues to ravage 17th century Europe, but a new force is gathering power and influence: the Confederated Principalities of Europe, an alliance between Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden, and the West Virginians from the 20th century led by Mike Stearns who were hurled centuries into the past by a mysterious cosmic accident. The democratic ideals of the CPE have aroused the implacable hostility of Cardinal Richelieu, effective ruler of France, who has moved behind the scenes, making common cause with old enemies to stop this new threat to the privileged and powerful. But the CPE is also working in secret…
