Pink Floyd will release the mono version of their 1967 debut The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn on vinyl LP for this year’s Record Store Day. This is a new mono remaster by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman. The vinyl masters were cut in 2018 from the original analogue mono master tape. The record is pressed on heavyweight vinyl and comes with a black poly-lined inner bag. To differentiate this mono from the stereo, Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis (with Peter Curzon) created some additional packaging in the form of a card envelope which features a psychedelic design, including a gold embossed version of the graphic by Syd Barrett which also features on the reverse of the original mono LP.

MBBC Archives 1970-1971: The Paris Cinema Sessions is a Pink Floyd/Harvested bootleg CD featuring two different sets from the John Peel BBC radio shows, one representing Atom Heart Mother from 1970, the other representing Meddle from 1971. It's also great to compare the versions of "The Embryo" and "Fat Old Sun" between both sessions.

When they started making bootleg compact discs in 1988 and 1989, this was one of the first I bought. It's a Pink Floyd disc on The Swingin' Pig called The Embryo, consisting of songs performed for BBC Radio in 1968 and 1969. While Syd Barrett is shown on the cover, he was already out of the group by the time he did these sessions. The Embryo is only eight songs in length running just over 30 minutes, but I always liked this one quite a bit, especially for "Murderistic Woman" (also titled "The Murderotic Woman" on other discs), which would become "Careful With That Axe Eugene". (As was the case with most CD's from the mid to late 80's, volume levels are relatively low so I raised the peak levels for each track. No adjustments to the EQ has been done.)

Actually better then the actual Pink Floyd recordings of the same songs. IF every orchestra in the country would play these arriangements in concert they wouldn't need any extra funds. This recording and the it's conterpart of songs of Queen are both the best of its ilk. Definately worthy of the listen. Excellent…

Sound On Film was an American radio show dedicated to new films at the time, broadcasted from WKCR-FM Columbia University Radio in New York City. This episode (the 5th in the series) is about the Michaelangelo Antonioni film Zabriskie Point, which became a cult favorite due to the music contributed by The Pink Floyd. No Pink Floyd interviews but it's a conversation on what the film is about and why it matters.

MQR is once again proud to present our newest title, Forever and Ever, a mashup of The Division Bell and The Endless River designed to make The Division Bell less radio-friendly and The Endless River less avant garde. It is intended as a true final Pink Floyd record, an alternate reality version of what should have been released in 1994. When we first listened to The Endless River we were sadly disappointed by the lack of any sort of actual songs on the record. Other that Louder Than Words, there was nothing with a traditional song structure to it or lyrics on the record. We heard many pieces of things we had heard before, either on bootlegs or on the Colours of Infinity soundtrack…
