Many scientists and engineers now use the paradigms of evolutionary computation (genetic algorithms, evolution strategies, evolutionary programming, genetic programming, classifier systems, and combinations or hybrids thereof) to tackle problems that are either intractable or unrealistically time consuming to solve through traditional computational strategies.
