Album released in Spain first of the vocal group 'Marfil'. Really this group was created to develop a project to rescue popular melodic songs and classic of the 60's, -those years being in the collective memory-, but trying to give them a new format and style, which led to the formula 'non stop medley'. The result of this and the second LP released was a resounding success in Spain. Later the avatars of the same group -consisting of two male and two female voices- and of the label marked a very varied career that has lasted however far from the hand of one of the founders, Marino. The LP and is very hard to find and the result still remains unforgettable to recreate these great and romantic songs created by composers and performers of the 60, pointers in Europe.
This album consists of five songs from Nothing Like the Sun… re-recorded in Spanish and Portugese. This was a well-done project – the translations are good and Sting manages the Spanish and Portugese pronunciations well. However, unless you are huge fan, or enjoy hearing the songs sung in different languages, this is an album you'll want to pass over.

California Girl is a collection of old songs and newly recorded tracks by Nancy Sinatra, all built around one central concept – songs about California, from San Francisco to San Fernando, from classic tunes from the silver screen to sun-kissed rock & roll. It's a good idea for a record and even if the mix of old and new material is a little bit awkward, it's still a breezy, rather engaging record for longtime fans who have stuck by Nancy through thick and thin.
The artist, Antonio Lopez, tries to paint the quince tree he planted some time back in his garden. Throughout his life, he has worked on the same theme many times, almost as if it were a physical necessity. Every year, with the arrival of autumn, this need resurfaces. The artist's work has never represented the sun's rays between the leaves of the tree, and, given his characteristic realist style, he tries to achieve this. But he goes about it in the same way, without consciously pursuing a finished picture - he just wants to be close to the fragile lavish tree for a few weeks.
