Hot Streets is Chicago’s twelfth studio classic. Co-produced by Phil Ramone, the album features the arrival of Donnie Dacus. It reached the Top Twenty on the Billboard 200 and features the hit singles “Alive Again,” “No Tell Lover” and “Gone Long Gone.” Hot Streets finds the band incorporating various elements of jazz into their pop-rock sound.

Stefano Torino wants nothing to do with his Gypsy clan but his brother Marco thinks otherwise. Marco arranges a marriage for Stefano with a young Gypsy woman from Chicago, Annie Caldash. Stefano, or Steve as he now prefers to be called, wants nothing to do with it but Annie convinces him that she had no intention of accepting him at the altar intending on running away as soon as Marco pays her father the $2000 they've been promised. Steve decides to go along with the gag but gets trapped when Annie decides she wants to marry him after all. Steve leaves for several months but when he returns Annie's request for a divorce leads him to reconsider his decision.

Over the past several years since copyright laws were changed in the EU, it has become a tradition at the end of the year for record labels to release “copyright extension” releases featuring unreleased material from their biggest artists to protect their interests in said material. Hot off the heels of a compilation of Motown unreleased material from 1965 comes another release in this vein from a group who has made this a yearly tradition: The Beach Boys. This last Friday, Capitol put up quietly (as is the norm with these releases) on all digital download services a set of two unreleased concerts: Live In Chicago 1965.
