Two legendary artists together in a unique 1994 music & spoken word performance at the famous venue chaired radio host Vince Scelsa.
The Dan Reed Network were formed in 1984 when school friends and fellow Nightwing band mates Dan Reed and Dan Pred both ended up living in Portland. Along with guitarist Brion James, bassist Melvin Brannen and keyboardist Blake Sakamoto, formerly of Quaterflash. The group went on to release an independent EP, and within two years had signed with Polygram. Their self titled debut album was recorded with producer Bruce Fairbairn. Their first single 'Ritual' became a Top 40 hit in 1988 and a subsequent tour built upon their success.
Robert Reed will also release Variations On Themes By David Bedford. "I've been working with David's family as part of this years celebrations of David's work, he would have been 80 this year," Reed told Prog of the composer and musician who orchestrated Mike Odlfield's Tubular Bells. "So I have recorded an EP of re-workings of some of his work. Sid Smith has written the sleeve notes, and Tom Newman has mixed it, and it features appearances from Terry Oldfield and Les Penning. I think his work it a little over shadowed by Mikes, even though he had a massive influence on Oldfield's work."
'Sanctuary Live' is a DVD / CD package recorded in 2016 at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studio. Accompanied by a 13 piece band, including fellow Magenta members Christina Booth, Chris Fry, Jiffy Griffiths and Dan Nelson, and vocalist Angharad Morgan (Kompendium), Robert performed a selection of music from his highly successful Sanctuary 1 and Sanctuary 2 albums.
