Guitarist and former wunderkind Daniel Bachman, at 26, can no longer be considered “precocious.” On even his earliest recordings Bachman’'s guitar prowess and compositional voice were staggeringly mature. His growth has been continual and, frankly, amazing - the ultimate product of this growth, 2015’'s River, showed a phenomenal level of maturity and, in turn, continued to convert faithful. His new (2016) self-titled album continues that staggering growth - in composition, sound, and technique - and offers a sort of trapped in amber glimpse of where he presently stands.

Following his 1970 departure from the Guess Who, guitarist Randy Bachman recorded a solo album (Axe) and planned a project with ex-Nice keyboardist Keith Emerson (later canceled due to illness) before forming Bachman-Turner Overdrive in 1972. Originally called "Brave Belt," the metal group was comprised of singer/guitarist Bachman, fellow Guess Who alum Chad Allan, bassist C.F. "Fred" Turner, and Randy's brother, drummer Robbie; after a pair of LPs (Brave Belt I and Brave Belt II), Allan was replaced by another Bachman brother, guitarist Tim, and in homage to the trucker's magazine Overdrive, the unit became BTO…

After gaining some recognition from the success of the band's previous album, Bachman-Turner Overdrive got around to recording Not Fragile. Not only had one of the three Bachman brothers (Tim, the rhythm guitarist) left the band to BTO's advantage, but Randy Bachman and C.F. Turner had clearly grown musically…

Pocket Books | 2008 | ISBN: 1416555048 | 384 pages | EPUB | 3 MB

Once upon a time, a fellow named Richard Bachman wrote Blaze on an Olivetti typewriter, then turned the machine over to Stephen King, who used it to write Carrie. Bachman died in 1985 ("cancer of the pseudonym"), but this last gripping Bachman novel resurfaced after being hidden away for decades – an unforgettable crime story tinged with sadness and suspense. Clayton Blaisdell, Jr., was always a small-time delinquent. None too bright either, thanks to the beatings he got as a kid. Then Blaze met George Rackley, a seasoned pro with a hundred cons and one big idea. The kidnapping should go off without a hitch, with George as the brains behind their dangerous scheme. But there's only one problem: by the time the deal goes down, Blaze's partner in crime is dead. Or is he?

Richard Bachman first appeared on bookshelves in the late 1970's with the release of Rage and The Long Walk. King has said that he used the Bachman pseudonym so that he could write differently and also to see how an unknown writer would do. The Bachman books were not as successful as those penned under the King name, but he kept producing them. In the early 1980's, King used the Bachman name to write Roadwork and The Running Man. In 1984, King wrote Thinner using the Bachman name. Somehow, around the same time, Steve Brown found that Bachman was actually King. The rumor spread fast and "Thinner" began flying off the shelf.Bookstores throughout the country began selling out of all the Bachman books of course, and King finally admitted the truth.

Fascinating, how he pulled it off for over fifteen years!
