Make no mistake about it….. Of all the bands – let not call them side projects, as they are worth more than that – Ginger has been in whilst in The Wildhearts and without, MV has long held the suspicion that Hey! Hello! is the one he liked best. Originally emerging as part of a three album Pledge project a few years back, the shimmering, sunny completely unashamed rock n roll vibe of the record was at odds with the lyrics (in the way that Ginger’s best songwriting always was) and it spawned the quite fantastic “How I Survived The Punk Rock Wars”. All was set, then, for album number two.

After his smash 1989 hit album Trash, Cooper attempted to continue his success with his follow-up album, which features guest performances from Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Vinnie Moore, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars (both of Mötley Crüe). Hey Stoopid was the last music album to feature bassist Hugh McDonald before he joined Bon Jovi as their unofficial bassist in 1995.

On the classic 1972 live album Roadwork, Edgar Winter immortalized the words, when introducing brother Johnny: "Everybody asks me…where's your brother?" It's a question that fans have besieged both Winters with for over two decades, and now Johnny gets a chance to return the tribute with his latest. Edgar does in fact guest on the sessions, blowing sax and tinkling keys on a few tracks, and dueting with big bro on a superb, seasonal rendition of "Please Come Home for Christmas".

If there was ever a female voice that conveyed the diverse qualities of the fertile Austin, TX music scene, Toni Price would be on anyone's short list for the honors. On her second album she wraps her lazy, husky drawl around some terrific material, much of it penned by Gwil Owen who wrote or co-wrote seven of these 13 tunes. Price also utilizes the cream of the city's extensive crop of musical talent with drummers Barry Frosty Smith, Doyle Bramhall ,and Lisa Pankratz joining fiddler Champ Hood and guitarists Scrappy Jud Newcomb, Casper Rawls, David Grissom, and Derek O'Brien (who also produced) on a set that mixes country, folk, jazz, torch, blues, rock, and twang with an effortlessness unique to Austin's distinctive groove.

Label: Run For Cover Records | Release Year: 2016

15 years after it’s initial release, Hey Mercedes’ stunning debut Everynight Fire Works will be reissued on Run For Cover Records. Formed after the break up of Braid by Bob Nanna, Mark Dawursk and Damon Atkinson, Hey Mercedes’ brand of emo-influenced alternative rock has stood the test of time as a more melodic but equally-as-important companion to the members’ first band. In fact, in the many subsequent revivals of the emo-leaning alt-rock sound of the late-90’s & early 2000s, Hey Mercedes is as much an influence on these bands as Jimmy Eat World, The Get-Up Kids, and The Ataris. Everynight Fire Works, originally released by Vagrant Records in October 2001, will be reissued as a double LP in summer 2016. Remastered by JJ Golden (Sunny Day Real Estate, Soundgarden), the album will be accompanied by the band’s “Weekend EP,” a companion piece originally released in 2002 that has never been released on vinyl before.
