Automatic Control of Aircraft and Missiles
Publisher: Wiley-Interscience | pages: 672 | 1991 | ISBN: 0471506516 | PDF | 27,9 mb

This Second Edition continues the fine tradition of its predecessor by exploring the various automatic control systems in aircraft and on board missiles. Considerably expanded and updated, it now includes new or additional material on: the effectiveness of beta-beta feedback as a method of obtaining coordination during turns using the F-15 as the aircraft model; the root locus analysis of a generic acceleration autopilot used in many air-to-air and surface-to-air guided missiles; the guidance systems of the AIM-9L Sidewinder as well as bank-to-turn missiles; various types of guidance, including proportional navigation and line-of-sight and lead-angle command guidance; the coupling of the output of a director fire control system into the autopilot; the analysis of multivariable control systems; and methods for modeling the human pilot, plus the integration of the human pilot into an aircraft flight control system. Also features many new additions to the appendices.

Aircraft Dynamics and Automatic Control

Aircraft Dynamics and Automatic Control by Irving Ashkenas
Princeton University Press | January 1, 1973 | English | ISBN: 0691080836 | 809 pages | PDF | 23 MB

Aeronautical engineers concerned with the analysis of aircraft dynamics and the synthesis of aircraft flight control systems will find an indispensable tool in this analytical treatment of the subject. Approaching these two fields with the conviction that an understanding of either one can illuminate the other, the authors have summarized selected, interconnected techniques that facilitate a high level of insight into the essence of complex systems problems.

More Luftwaffe Fighter Aircraft in Profile

Claes Sundin, Christer Bergstrom - More Luftwaffe Fighter Aircraft in Profile
Schiffer Publishing | 2002 | ISBN: 0764315595 | 134 pages | PDF | 171.57 MB

Like its predecessor published in 1997, this book is a must-have for all Luftwaffe enthusiasts and modellers. This latest volume depicts 124 single-engine Luftwaffe fighters - Bf 109s, FW 190s, He 161s, Me 262s and even a Macchi 205 flown by JG 77! - in full color along with accompanying stories on the aircraft's pilot. Emphasis is given to early war aircraft (1939-1942) and rightly so since Luftwaffe camouflage and colors blossomed in that period. (Later war aircraft tended to be drab with few unit markings). Creating color artwork from mainly black and white photographs can open one up to criticism. However the authors make a strong case for the correctness of their artwork through opening chapters on Luftwaffe day fighter camouflage and markings and comments from Sundin. The resulting book is a feast for the eyes and great reading as well. Along with recreating several well-known schemes, they have unearthed new and interesting markings. The pilots covered range from well-known Experten like Gunther Rall to less well-known aces such as Rudi Artner. Lastly, since the profiles are chronologically arranged, one can also see the fascinating progression of Luftwaffe schemes from first to last.
