Legendary blues pianist Henry Gray has collaborated with harmonica ace Bob Corritore since 1996. This first volume presents a 14 song selection recorded over a 19-year period. Henry sings 9 of these selections and Robert Lockwood Jr. , John Brim, Nappy Brown, Tail Dragger and Dave Riley provide one vocal each. Joining the proceedings are a rotating lineup of some of the blues' greatest musicians, including Bob Margolin, Kid Ramos, Kirk Fletcher, Big Jon Atkinson, Chris James, Patrick Rynn, Bob Stroger, Chico Chism, June Core, Doug James and many more, for a program of fully-realized songs that alternate between rollicking, partying jumps and shuffles to the deepest of blues!
The final programme showing highlights of the reburial service from earlier in the day and – live – a last moment of intimate ceremonial, in which those who led the campaign to find Richard and his descendants, gather to bid the King a final farewell.
The Bosworth beacon, lit when Richard’s remains arrived back at the site of his death on Sunday morning, will be extinguished as the massive tombstone is revealed for the first time.
Given the considerable number of recordings that have tried to place Renaissance compositions within the context for which they were written, it is odd that the same has so rarely been done for Bach. After all, most of Bach's output consists of Gebrauchsmusik, music written for daily use. This release by Scotland's historical-instrument Dunedin Consort and its leader John Butt shows the possibilities of this approach.
After taking this course, you can start mastering ExpressJS by building RESTful APIs for your single-page applications (powered by AngularJS, ReactJS, BackboneJS or any other front-end framework). With ExpressJS, developers can easily organize their code (middleware pattern), add more functionality (npm modules) and configure the server (configuration over convention).
Round House are a five piece instrumental progressive rock band, with roots firmly in Camel although they do use the twin guitar interplay to fine effect and even manage to come across as Wishbone Ash at times. The debut album "Jin.Zo-Ni.N.Gen" was originally released at the end of 1978.
"Wings To Rest" (2002) was released after the band had already broken up. This was a collection of previously unavailable material that had been recorded in 1978 and 1979, and show the band in a much more jazz fusion vein. The twin guitars are still very much to the fore and any fan of good guitar will love the opener "A Red Rose And Whisper Of A Devil"…
Chappie was bound to be something a little special since it is composer Hans Zimmer’s first all-electronic score in 25 years. He also had a little help with this, with additional music by Steve Mazzaro and Andrew Kawczynski. But how did it turn out? Chappie, being a film about a robot that can feel and think like a child can, is quite an interesting movie for anyone to score. It has to have somewhat of a child element, while still remaining robotic and ready for action and intensity…
Drummer Dan Brubeck, son of the late Dave Brubeck, pays homage to his parents in a most appropriate way. He puts the proper frame around the songbook created by his mother and father over their 70-year performance career. Using the saxophone quartet format his father blazed jazz trails with, Brubeck leads his quartet through 14 Brubeck originals at Vancouver's Cellar recorded in August 2013. Bassist Adam Thomas proves to be a fine vocalist for the special material, never obscuring the pieces with technical attempts to impress. Urbane and amiable, this collection has been a long time coming and now that it is here, we can fully appreciate the art of Dave and Iola Brubeck.
