Oboe Concerto in C major K314: All his life, Mozart (1756 - 1791) was an indefatigable traveller, especially during his childhood and youth. On 22 September 1777 he left Salzburg with his mother, en route for Augsburg, Mannheim and then Paris, with a view to obtaining a secure position and a regular income.

Frank Woeste is not just an exceptionally fine pianist and a gifted exponent of the Fender Rhodes, he also has a thorough understanding of his own creative process. If all art is about leaving an impression, then Woeste's mission is to etch a deep mark both as a player and as a composer. His debut as an artist on ACT, then, not only reveals a musician brimming with ideas, but also a fully-fledged composer and an extremely adept arranger. His trio with guitarist Ben Monder and drummer Justin Brown creates a sound which is orchestral in its scale and its impact. The intimacy of chamber music goes hand in hand here with the forward propulsion of a jazz trio, and with the power of a big band. In other words, the title “Pocket Rhapsody” gets it right.

Marcos Valle was the Renaissance man of Brazilian pop, a singer/songwriter/producer who straddled the country's music world from the early days of the bossa nova craze well into the fusion-soaked sound of '80s MPB. Though his reputation in America never quite compared to contemporaries like Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, or even Tom Zé, Valle is one of the most important and popular performers in the history of Brazilian pop.

What Tas Cru presents here is, well, 11 old and recycled Tas Cru songs. That would not be so cool except here we have 11 tunes he did on prior solo albums in a very minimalistic manner. The cuts here are a full production with backing and arrangements. What Tas has done is taking the sound he achieved and loved off his last album in December 2014 and recreating that with some of the stuff he still does at his shows that he’d released on solo albums. He says, “Finally, after five albums everything fell into place- the songwriting, the performance, and production.” He doesn’t have inventory to sell those old CDs so he figured why not take the stuff he still plays and create a bigger and better sounding version of it? I must agree. He’s done a fine job here!

She was heard for the first time in June 1962 by a small but enthusiastic audience in Seiler's Café Atlantis in Basle: Elsie Bianchi sang and played what some call "bar jazz". It was great entertainment nevertheless and only a few jazz fans missed her performances. Elsie Bianchi learned to play the accordion when she was only five years old, somewhat later she began to play the piano and then she started to sing. One man with a well-trained ear and grand piano, the Villinger boss of SABA, H. G. Brunner-Schwer, offered Elsie Bianchi and her Trio the chance to record a total of 14 numbers in his professional studio in 1965.

Steve Earle was on a roll in the mid-1980s; crashing onto a dilapidated country scene with his rock-influenced vitality, he turned out three classic albums in three years. His third, „Copperhead Road“, is possibly the most accomplished. Here Earle streamlines his roughneck country-rock sound for maximum impact, and hones his sociopolitical songwriting to balance perfectly with his more personal offerings. The title tune, a tale about a Vietnam-vet drug-runner, was a surprise crossover hit, widening Earle's pop profile. 'Devil's Right Hand,' another Earle signature tune, is as powerful an anti-gun song as you're likely to hear.
