The only family/friend she can depend on is a forty-five year old "baseball playing gorilla" named Ling-ling. When a loan shark threatens to sell Ling-ling and the circus kids to cover the debt, Wei-wei has no choice but to allow Ling-ling to be scouted by the materialistic sports agent Sung Chung-su to play in the Korean Baseball League. Despite the skeptical of the professional baseball society, Sung Chung-su successfully signs Ling-ling with a professional team with his calculated plan and sweet talks. Ling-ling, now dubbed "Mr. Go," hits consecutive home runs and brings victories to his team Doosan. His popularity grows so immensely that even the fans of his opposing teams cheer for him. Mr. Blue Sky: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra (also known as Mr. Blue Sky) is an album of re-recordings by Jeff Lynne of hits by Electric Light Orchestra. It was issued in 2012 on Frontiers simultaneously with Lynne's cover album Long Wave. Jeff Lynne told Rolling Stone magazine that the idea came from him listening to the original Electric Light Orchestra recordings, and thinking that he could produce a better result having since had a long career as a record producer. Lynne decided to re-record a number of songs from scratch, and began with "Mr. Blue Sky". He told Rolling Stone that "I enjoyed doing that a lot, and when I listened back to it and compared it to the old one, I really liked it much better." It was suggested by his manager that Lynne record a few more versions of Electric Light Orchestra songs, the results being recordings of "Evil Woman" and "Strange Magic". Lynne also liked these versions, so he continued by producing a full album of re-recordings.

This Ember collection includes Billy Eckstine and His Orchestra's 1944 recordings for Deluxe Records. Eckstine's band featured some of the best sidemen of the big band era – Dizzie Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Sarah Vaughan, Art Blakey, Gene Ammons, Maxine Sullivan, Benny Carter, Oscar Pettiford – and they swung harder than anyone else on numbers like "Good Jelly Blues," "Blowing the Blues Away," and "I Got a Date with Rhythm." Unfortunately, the sound quality hasn't been remastered at all since this same sequence was first reissued (in 1962), and all of this material is also available on the superb 1944-1945 collection.

Frank Wellington Wess (January 4, 1922 – October 30, 2013) was an American jazz saxophonist and flautist. In addition to his extensive solo work, Wess is remembered for his time in Count Basie's band from the early 1950s into the '60s. Critic Scott Yannow described him as one of the premier proteges of Lester Young, and a leading jazz flautist of his era – using the later instrument to bring new colors to Basie's music.
