Simply Deep is the debut solo studio album by American singer Kelly Rowland. Recorded within three weeks during the hiatus of her group Destiny's Child and upon the success of worldwide number-one hit single "Dilemma", a collaboration with rapper Nelly, the album facilitated Rowland in becoming a viable solo star. The album includes guest appearances from Nelly, Solange Knowles and Joe Budden. Simply Deep debuted and peaked at number twelve on the US Billboard 200, becoming Rowland's lowest-charting album to date. It was certified gold in 2003. The album also topped the UK Albums Chart. It garnered two nominations at the TMF Awards in the Netherlands and eventually won both trophies, including Best R&B International Artist. Simply Deep has sold over two million copies worldwide, becoming Rowland's best-selling album to date.
10 years have gone by since O3 debut album "… de las piedras" was released on the english label Another Timbre. Since then the trio have been working sporadically in Europe and also collaborating with artist like Merce Cunningham Dance Ensemble, Miguel Angel Tolosa, Kim Myhr, Jane Rigler and Jim Denley. The last three years O3 has been involved with the Norwegian contemporary circus ensemble Stella Polaris, making music for three different performances.
This is an exceptional disc. Exceptional both for the music Johannes Brahms’ three violin sonatas contain some of his most lovely writing and the performance French violinist Augustin Dumay and Portuguese pianist Maria Pires project a strong interpretive vision. The interpretation is more lyrical and thoughtful than typical, with somewhat slow tempi generally. This is married to exquisite – and I mean, exquisite – technique from both Pires and Dumay as well as an outstanding sound engineering job from DG. The excellence of this CD is comprehensive.
