A set of stand-alone essays written by the cream of rock music's commentators—among them Rob Johnstone, Clinton Heylin, Legs McNeill, Greil Marcus, Kris Needs, Judy Nylon, Alan Clayson, and Nigel Williamson—this work could well be the final word on the symbol of 1970 punk they once called "Rotten." Love him or hate him, 30 years after the release of the Sex Pistols' first record, John Lydon—the man who was the focal point of the British punk movement—is impossible to ignore when discussing the history of rock. Was the Sex Pistols' album Never Mind the Bollocks the one true masterpiece of punk's first wave? How did the Pistols influence American punk? How does Lydon's post-Pistols work in PIL compare in influence and artistry? Contributors delve into these questions and more in this fitting tribute to an underdog who went on to become an antihero to millions.

Get Inside is guitarist Johnny A.'s second solo effort, appearing after nearly four years of touring and performing in support of the promising, effortlessly professional, 2001 effort Sometime Tuesday Morning. Inside is an album of tasteful instrumentals, tinged with the various styles A. has absorbed as a veteran sideman. Bold opener "Hip Bone" features Latin-flecked percussion, and A.'s impossibly clean tone; rich in atmosphere and detail, it could be an instrumental take on Los Lobos……

Johnny A. is a Boston guitarist who has spent time playing with keyboardist Bobby Whitlock (Derek & the Dominos), percussionist Mingo Lewis (Santana), and ex-J. Geils frontman Peter Wolf. Sometime Tuesday Morning is A.'s extremely tasteful and classy debut solo CD. It is an all-instrumental project with A's guitar serving as the voice. Melodic and warm, it contains a handful of covers and eight originals. Imagine Willie Cobbs' blues classic "You Don't Love Me" with a funky, revamped lead lick, a little wah-wah, and chords and octaves that recall Wes Montgomery. Or a beautiful, melancholy version of Jimmy Webb's "Wichita Lineman," laced with enough melodic nuances and afterthoughts to give you some serious goose bumps……

Robert Rodriguez teams with Frank Miller to direct this follow-up to Sin City from a script by Miller and William Monahan based on preexisting stories along with new ones written for the big screen. Josh Brolin stars in the adaptation of the comic miniseries (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For), which tells the backstory of Clive Owen's Dwight character as he is wrapped up in the thralls of femme fatale, Ava (Eva Green). Also new to the series is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who plays Johnny, a mysterious gambler set on taking down his sworn enemy in a high-stakes game of life and death. Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, and Jaime King return for the Dimension Films release, with Jamie Chung and Dennis Haysbert stepping into roles left by Devon Aoki and the late Michael Clarke Duncan.
