Schola Hungarica – Magyar Gregorianum 2 (1979) Hungaroton/SLPX 12048 – Original HU Pressing - LP/FLAC In 24bit/96kHz

Schola Hungarica – Magyar Gregorianum 2 (Gregorian Chants From Medieval Hungary)
Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC + cue | 24bit/96kHz & 16bit/44kHz | 900mb & 200mb
Label: Hungaroton/SLPX 12048 | Released: 1979 | Genre: Gregorian Chant

One of my favorite group of “Flat Chant”, the Schola Hungarica ensemble. In this LP there are some exceptions: There are polyphonic pieces and others accompanied by some instrument (organ or percussion).
An awesome LP example from this vocal group.

As orchestras and conductors have been demonstrating for more than a century, you don't have to be Bohemian to play Dvorák. All you need is profound musicality, a deep love of life, and an overwhelming urge to communicate. These are all qualities that Ivan Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra demonstrate in full in this 2000 Channel Classics recording of the composer's Eighth and Ninth symphonies. In these performances, one hears not only edge-of-the-chair excitement from the Hungarian musicians, one hears joy, happiness, and good old-fashioned fun. Listen to the rollicking horn trills in the Eighth's Finale, the thundering timpani in the Ninth's Scherzo; the interplay between winds, strings, and brass in the coda of the Eighth's Scherzo; the lush string tone in the Ninth's Largo; the headlong rush of the Eighth's opening Allegro con brio; or the awesome power of the Ninth's closing Allegro con fuoco.

Whichever way you look at this is a significant show: the last time King Crimson played anywhere in mainland Europe. As such there’s a certain end-of-term aspect here - a rushing Dinosaur, a final flush in the cheeks of Red as it hits the finishing line. Humour plays its part as well when Belew quips to quell the photographers before a dazzling ConstruKction of Light.
The Nice - Elegy (1971) Philips/6303 011 - Original DE Demo Pressing - LP/FLAC In 24bit/96kHz - ONLY RE-POST

The Nice - Elegy
Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC + cue | 24bit/96kHz / 900mb
Label: Philips/6303 011 | Release: 1971 | Genre: Symphonic-Rock

Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection.
Although admittedly a posthumous release, I was very surprised at the rather dismissive tenor of many of the reviews of this album to date. Hopefully this record will be reappraised soon as being a release worthy of anyone's consideration as I feel it does enhance an already rich legacy left behind by this very fine and innovative band. (So what if Charisma wanted to ride the slipstream of the lucrative ELP juggernaut?)

Fiona Joy Hawkins is an Australian composer, vocalist, and pianist, who uses the stage-name Fiona Joy. She was born in Cessnock, New South Wales, to a creative family, and trained as a classical pianist. In 2015 Fiona contributed to a GRAMMY-winning album and traversed three continents, performing solo for a tour of China where she has been nicknamed 'The Piano Angel', not just for her romantic, melodic songs and lush arrangements, but also for her gracious and mesmerizingly ballet-like performance style in concert. A prolific composer, she has always been interested in creating music that evokes images, emotions and stories. Fiona describes her distinctive style and glorious voice as New Age and cites Bolero's Ravel as one of her most powerful musical inspirations…

Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC | 24bit/96kHz & 16bit/44kHz

Essential: a masterpiece of prog rock music.
Solaris' Marsbéli Krónikák is one of the few shining lights that got unnoticed during that bleak 1980s period of progressive rock, not to mention the fact that very few people in the West ever heard this album. It wasn't until the 1990s and exposure on the Internet, plus someone taking the time to reissue this on CD that the West finally got to hear this amazing gem from this five-piece instrumental band from Hungary. I first discovered the band by reading their entry in the GEPR in the late 1990s.

The word operetta itself means „little opera” ; as a form it is a comedy which prospered in the second part of the XIX. Century and the beginning of the XX. Century. Overtures, songs , interacts and many chattering are typical for its content.
