Silica, Some Silicates, Coal Dust and para-Aramid Fibrils (IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of the Carcinogenic Risks to Humans) by The International Agency for Research on Cancer
English | Dec. 30, 1997 | ISBN: 9283212681 | 521 Pages | PDF | 39 MB

Evaluates the carcinogenic risks to humans posed by exposure to crystalline and amorphous silica, some silicates (palygorskite, sepiolite, wollastonite, and zeolites other than erionite), coal dust, and para-aramid fibrils. The volume opens with a discussion of the many complexities involved in assessing the cancer risks associated with occupational exposure to inhaled mineral dusts, and the special toxicological considerations required when evaluating the results of experimental studies.

Printing Processes and Printing Inks: Carbon Black and Some Nitro Compounds (IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of the Carcinogenic Risks to Humans) by The International Agency for Research on Cancer
English | Apr. 1, 1996 | ISBN: 9283212657 | 594 Pages | PDF | 40 MB

Exposures in the printing industry are assessed according to their occurrence in printing ink manufacture and in printing operations such as letterpress lithography flexography gravure and screen-printing. Although many epidemiological studies have demonstrated some evidence of cancer risk in printing trades and printing industries the assessment found several important problems in the design of these studies. Occupational exposures in printing processes were classified as possibly carcinogenic to humans. Printing inks could not be classified.

Dry-Cleaning, Some Chlorinated Solvents and Other Industrial Chemicals (IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of the Carcinogenic Risks to Humans) by The International Agency for Research on Cancer
English | Sep. 1, 1995 | ISBN: 9283212630 | 565 Pages | PDF | 34 MB

Evaluates the carcinogenic risks to humans posed by exposures in the dry cleaning industry by eight chlorinated solvents and related chemicals and by an additional group of seven industrial chemicals. Dry cleaning is evaluated in the first and most extensive monograph. Concerning exposures to specific chemicals, tetrachloroethylene is identified as the most commonly used solvent during the last two to three decades.

English | Oct. 10, 2017 | ISBN: 9283201507 | 464 Pages | PDF | 12 MB

This volume of the IARC Monographs provides evaluations of the carcinogenicity of some organophosphate insecticides and herbicides, including diazinon, glyphosate, malathion, parathion, and tetrachlorvinphos.
Some Pharmaceutical Drugs (IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of the Carcinogenic Risks to Humans)

Some Pharmaceutical Drugs (IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of the Carcinogenic Risks to Humans) by UNAIDS
English | Dec. 31, 1980 | ISBN: 928321224X | 519 Pages | PDF | 35 MB

Evaluates the carcinogenic risk to humans posed by exposure to some Pharmaceutical Drugs.
The term 'carcinogenic risk' in the IARC Monographs series is taken to mean the probability that exposure to an agent will lead to cancer in humans. Inclusion of an agent in the Monographs does not imply that it is a carcinogen, only that the published data have been examined.

Development of a Methodology for the Evaluation of Active Safety using the Example of Preventive Pedestrian Protection by Thomas Helmer
English | 31 Dec. 2014 | ISBN: 3319128884 | 207 Pages | PDF | 8 MB

The book reports on a new methodology for optimization and evaluation of traffic safety, which simulates the processes involved in traffic conflicts on the basis of detailed dynamical, human, and technical models.

Simulation-Based Usability Evaluation of Spoken and Multimodal Dialogue Systems By Stefan Hillmann

This book describes an extension of the user behaviour simulation (UBS) of an existing tool for automatic usability evaluation (AUE). This extension is based upon a user study with a smart home system. It uses technical-sociological methods for the execution of the study and the analysis of the collected data. A comparison of the resulting UBS with former UBSs, as well as the empirical data, shows that the new simulation approach outperforms the former simulation.
