A 19-track collection of otherwise unavailable live performances from 1966-1968, taken from shows in Melbourne, Stockholm, London, and the '67 Monterey Pop Festival, as well as radio and television broadcasts. Most of this dates from the psychedelic version of the band, which will disappoint those who are primarily interested in the group's rock/R&B prime. It's quite a good relic, though, with rough and ready execution by both Burdon and the band, and some unusual R&B and psychedelic material alongside the versions of hits like "Inside Looking Out," "Monterey," "San Franciscan Nights," and "When I Was Young." Sound ranges from fair to very good.

In 2004 Eric Burdon released his fantastic album "My Secret Life" and toured in Europe and US. His sense of humour hasn't left Burdon, and he still likes to play upon his age. "I'm a wreck," he says, surprising his listeners, adding - with a wink, of course: "I've got bronchitis, asthma, I'm overweight and I'm a slow-motion wreck of a human being. I turn into a different person every time I get on stage.

This is a compilation of 14 tracks from Eric Burdon & The Animals, and it’s a kind of historical overview of the years that Burdon worked with several Animals line-ups. The overall sound quality is not spectacular but it’s a nice introduction to those who want to get acquainted with their work.

The Lost Broadcasts are a series of DVD sets featuring performances that have rarely been seen since the original transmission on German television, in some cases more than forty years ago. Some of the artists featured within the series are legendary and these "Lost" performances will be a fine addition to any music fans collection. The series covers a number of styles and genres however all of the performances are of a high calibre
Eric Burdon first came to fame as vocalist with the Newcastle band The Animals. The band enjoyed massive worldwide success with the hit single The House Of The Rising Sun. This album containing re-recordings is slightly different from “The House Of the Rising Sun” released by Disky, that I have posted a couple of days ago. However, in my humble opinion this “Success” version sounds better. Well, you can judge for yourselves (if you like).

The original band, The Animals, broke up in 1966 and this band was entirely new except for lead singer Eric Burdon and drummer Barry Jenkins, who joined the original lineup when John Steel left in February 1966. With the new band, featuring guitarist Vic Briggs, bassist Danny McCulloch and electric violinist John Weider, Burdon began to move from the gritty blues sound of the original mid-1960s group into psychedelic music. All albums for sale by Eric Burdon & The Animals was released May 29, 2013 on the Universal Japan label.

It's an eyebrow-raising experience to encounter the cover of "River Deep, Mountain High" that opens the Animals 1968 album, Love Is. Clocking in at nearly seven and a half minutes, it's the weirdest version of the song ever cut. Self-produced by the band, it juxtaposes vocalist and bandleader Eric Burdon's staggering abilities as a rhythm & blues singer with few peers with then-modern-day psychedelia.

Burdon was lead singer of The Animals, formed during 1962 in Newcastle, England…By late 1966 the other original members, including keyboardist Alan Price, had left. Burdon and drummer Barry Jenkins reformed the group as Eric Burdon and The Animals. This group's hits included the ballad "San Franciscan Nights", the grunge–heavy metal-pioneering "When I Was Young", "Monterey", the anti-Vietnam anthem "Sky Pilot" and the progressive cover of "Ring of Fire".
