It started in 1986 with the Pietosi brothers (Al and Lou) and the Zucco brothers (Jake and Mark) agreeing to start a band together in the Zucco’s basement. All that was needed was a bass player and long time friend Dave Keller stepped in. He moved away in 1987 and another old friend, Randy VanHulten, came on to form the current version of the band.

Unicorn were definitely a band influenced by the British neo prog movement of the 1980s. The band was started by Swedish musician Dan Swanö, who is currently the vocalist, guitarist, ex-bassist and ex-drummer for the band Nightingale, lately vocalist, keyboardist and drummer for the band Witherscape, as well as the Owner of Unisound but he achieved fame as the vocalist and songwriter of progressive death metal band Edge of Sanity. This album have been originally released in Demo format on cassette. For this remastered re-release Dan have re-recorded all vocals and done the new remix. “A Collection of Worlds – Resurrection” is a brave project. But it shows the talent that Dan Swanö had as a teenager mixing with the talent that he has now.

The Canadian duo Kon Kan (musician Barry Harris and vocalist Kevin Wynne) scored an out-of-nowhere smash in 1989 with the quirky single "I Beg Your Pardon." Incorporating a repetitive drum beat, a catchy keyboard line, Wynne's droll vocal delivery (somewhat similar to New Order's Bernard Sumner) and the ingenious sampling of Lynn Anderson's hit "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden," "I Beg Your Pardon" became a dancefloor staple and eventually crossed over to the pop charts where it hit the Top 20…

The second of three albums by Wayne Horvitz's short-lived band, Bring Yr Camera continued with the idea of an instrumental rock-oriented group playing (mostly) Horvitz's quirky jazz and gospel-inflected compositions. Dave Tronzo replaced Bill Frisell in one of the two guitar seats, adding a country blues flavor to several of the pieces, including the relaxed "Philip." Horvitz's sing-songy melodies can have a tendency to slide into an easy slickness, making the presence of Elliott Sharp, who provides healthy doses of gritty noise, essential to the success of the project.

Significant portions of his life he lived in Käsivarsi, close to the border to Sweden, and also in Skibotn in Norway. It is sometimes said that Valkeapää is the Sami person who is most well known internationally. Valkeapää was born in a family of the traditional trade of herding reindeer, but was trained as a school teacher. The traditional sami singing yoik was important in his art, in music as well as in painting and in writing…

The Master and the Musician is the title of the first entirely instrumental album by guitarist Phil Keaggy, released in 1978, on NewSong Records. It was later reissued, with a bonus track, on Myrrh Records in 1989. Phil Keaggy's first instrumental album is a groundbreaking piece of work for him as an artist, for the Christian music genre, and for instrumental guitar music in general. Full of emotional twists, meditative sounds, and world-influenced tonalities, The Master & the Musician stands as an oasis in an otherwise barren field of Christian instrumental music. Pieces like "Jungle Pleasures" and "Follow Me Up" are great works in their own right, Christian or otherwise. An excellent work from an excellent musician.

So what if Liszt spent most of his life in France and Germany and never learned to speak Hungarian? The music of the Magyars' fiery favorite son played by a hot-blooded local boy is an irresistible combination. Even the delightful Dohnanyi filler (variations on ''Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star'') doesn't really douse the flames. Put it in the CD player and let 'er rip! Just be sure to remove all flammable vestments first. (Entertainment Weekly)
