"Who says you can't make a great record in one day – or night, as the case may be? The Trinity Session was recorded in one night using one microphone, a DAT recorder, and the wonderful acoustics of the Holy Trinity in Toronto. Interestingly, it's the album that broke the Cowboy Junkies in the United States for their version of "Sweet Jane," which included the lost verse. (…) For most, this was the Cowboy Junkies' debut – Whites Off Earth Now!! was re-released in the States a few years later – and it established them firmly in the forefront of the "alternative" scene with radio and MTV. As an album, it's still remarkable at how timeless it sounds, and its beauty is – in stark contrast to its presentation – voluminous and rich, perhaps even eternal." ~allmusicguide

Included is 2010's Renmin Park, which featured songs built around loops, conversations, street performances, and found sounds recorded during guitarist/songwriter Michael Timmins' time adopting two children from China…

Solo album from the voice of Pavlov’s Dog, David Surkamp, ‘Dancing On The Edge Of A Teacup’, Surkamp is ably supported by longtime friend Billy Costello on drums and keys and by his wife Sara on bass. As ever, Surkamp’s music is unclassifiable. It soars through the pigeon holes, stopping momentarily at a select few, then moves on. There’s a clear connection to the sixties throughout. On the face of it, opener, ‘Looking For My Shadow’ is an energetic, melodic progressive rock workout.

All the President’s Men Revisited brings Watergate to life with riveting archival footage, shocking Oval Office recordings, and compelling new interviews with those who perpetuated the crimes, those who pursued them, and those who portrayed them. The film unravels the story that began with a “third-rate burglary attempt” and escalated into the first and only Presidential resignation in American history. A remarkable cast tells the tale, including Robert Redford, Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein, Dustin Hoffman, Jon Stewart, Rachel Maddow, and others.

Although it didn't originally have anything to do with their sound, the Cowboy Junkies' name wound up seeming pretty accurate: their music was grounded in traditional country, blues, and folk, yet drifted along in a sleepy, narcotic haze that clearly bore the stamp of the Velvet Underground.
