Conan and Olivia have escaped the terrible wrath of the armies of Turan by fleeing to a small island in the vast Vilayet Sea, but it seems that Conan cannot avoid all the enemies that he made as leader of the Kozaki raiders. The small island that he and Olivia have used to put some distance between them and the Turanian military has turned out to be an appealing hiding place for another group of outlaws-the Red Brotherhood! Traveling only with the beautiful Olivia, and without an army of mercenaries at his back, Conan is no longer protected from their rage. However, they may not be the most dangerous adversaries Conan will have to face if he and Olivia are to get off the island in one piece! Large predators stalk the forest, and there is something much, much worse lurking within the ruins of an ancient civilization. Tim Truman, Tomas Giorello, and Jose Villarrubia continue their adaptation of Robert E. Howard's "Iron Shadows in the Moon." --

A centuries-old curse also haunts the island and threatens the lives of everyone on it! After surviving the massacre at Ilbars Stream and spending the ensuing weeks on the run, Conan still finds himself using his wits and survival knowledge to endure hardship and dangers. Olivia, the lovely former princess of Ophir, was rescued from slavery by Conan last issue-and she may be in a position to return the favor sooner than she'd like! Tim Truman, Tomás Giorello, and José Villarrubia's adaptation of Robert E. Howard's "Iron Shadows in the Moon" continues in this action-filled second chapter (of 4). --

One of Dark Horse's One-Shot Wonders! Living legend Darick Robertson (The Boys, Transmetropolitan, Wolverine) focuses his powerful storytelling talents on Conan--his favorite barbarian hero! In this "adult fable" that Robertson writes AND draws, Conan travels away from Cimmeria to search for a mercenary job that will bring him the fierce joy of battle and the spoils of war. Intrigued by a leader known as the "Mad King of Gaul," Conan joins a band of brutes who are defending the Aquilonian border from incursions and who enjoy living in a lush valley that the Mad King claims for his own. These warriors soon believe that Conan may be a more fitting successor to their leader than the supposed king's own son--setting Conan on a potentially disastrous course! Taking place between the and story arcs in the monthly series, this issue is perfect for both longtime readers and for intrigued fans looking for a dynamic one-shot punch from the visceral and cerebral Darick Robertson. -- solicitation, darkhorse.com
