This book shows the importance of studying semilocal convergence in iterative methods through Newton's method and addresses the most important aspects of the Kantorovich's theory including implicated studies. Kantorovich's theory for Newton's method used techniques of functional analysis to prove the semilocal convergence of the method by means of the well-known majorant principle.

The book focuses on both theory and applications in the broad areas of communication technology, computer science and information security. This two volume book contains the Proceedings of 4th International Conference on Advanced Computing, Networking and Informatics.

Along the years, rough set theory has earned a well-deserved reputation as a sound methodology for dealing with imperfect knowledge in a simple though mathematically sound way. This edited volume aims at continue stressing the benefits of applying rough sets in many real-life situations while still keeping an eye on topological aspects of the theory as well as strengthening its linkage with other soft computing paradigms.

This book treats mainly some basic topics of ergodic theory in a revised form, bringing into focus its interactions with classical descriptive set theory more than is normally the practice. The presentation has a slow pace and can be read by anyone with a background in measure theory and point set topology. In particular, the first two chapters, the core of ergodic theory, can form a course of four to six lectures at third year B.Sc., M.Sc., or M.Phil. level in Indian Uni- versities. I have borrowed freely from existing texts ( with acknowledgements) but the overall theme of the book falls in the complement of these.

Our aim in this book is to consider a variety of intriguing, surprising and appealing topics, and nonroutine proofs of the usual results of real function theory. The reader is expected to have done a first course in real analysis (or advanced calculus), since the book assumes a knowledge of continuity and differentiability of functions, Rolle's theorem, the mean value theorem, Taylor expansion and Riemann integration. However, no sophisticated knowledge of analysis is required and a student at the masters or advanced undergraduate level should have no difficulty in going through the book.

This introduction to Linear Algebra and Group Theory will, it is hoped, serve as a stepping stone to students of Physics, in particular of Theoretical Physics and possibly also of Mathematics, who wish to pur- sue advanced study and research. The first few chapters on elementary Group Theory and Linear Vector Spaces are included to make the book self-contained and mayaIso be used as instructional material for grad- uate and under-graduate classes. Since there are several good books on application of Group Theory to Physical Problems, the emphasis here is almost entirely on the theory which is presented with enough care and detail to enable the student to acquire a reasonably sound grasp of the fundamentals.

The volume represents the proceedings of the two international con- ferences (on N umber Theory and Cryptography) held at the Harish- Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad, during December, 2006 and February 2007. As Bertrand Russell puts it "Mathematics, rightly viewed, possesses not only truth, but supreme beauty - a beauty cold and austere, like that of sculpture"; for people working in pure mathematics, specially in number theory, no more motivation will be needed to pursue research in the subject.
