This album includes the beautiful song of loneliness and hope, Underground, the catchy and super Magic Dance, the fun and cheeky Chilly Down, the gentle As The Wall Falls Down and the romantic Within You. This album was proof that Bowie was still one of the greatest talents of the musical world by 1986, and had lost none of his ability to create beautiful and enchanting music.

World premiere 2-CD release of complete Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack to Russall Mulcahy film with Alec Baldwin as famed and flawed crime fighter, co-starring John Lone, Penelope Ann Miller, Ian McKellen, Peter Boyle. Dark, edged action plus stunning period design inspire Goldsmith to create one of his most involved, exciting (and longest) scores of his later career. Powerful French horn main theme imposes but is mere stepping stone to ferocious action music, mysterious ideas, tender love theme. Latter melody is especially pretty on piano, amongst composer's most beautiful - and barely heard from on original 1994 album.
…Hans Zimmer's Oscar-nominated score is performed on the instrument du jour of the 1980s, the electronic keyboard. A dangerous move, considering the synthesizer's lack of cinematic sweep, and its high potential for cheesiness. But this is a great score. The lonely, atmospheric "End Title" track is evocative of the sort of wistful sadness that pervades the film. And "Las Vegas" is even better – it provides a major adrenaline rush, as driving drum machines mix with wildly emotive wordless vocals. It's a very original approach to scoring a cinematic moment.
