Out of Reach is one of the forgotten Cans. Maligned as misbegotten, it's actually better than advertised, albeit requiring some effort to penetrate the densely layered rhythmic structure. Out of Reach sometimes sounds complicated rather than complex…

Deborah Coleman's Blind Pig debut, I Can't Lose, is a powerful album of great ballads and blues stories, and of course, great guitar playing and singing. Her version of Billie Holiday's "Fine and Mellow" got her a lot of airplay on college and public radio stations around the U.S.

Ef was formed in 2003 and made a strong debut in the post rock scene with their debut album "Give Me Beauty… Or Give Me Death!" (2006). Their first embrace - filled with emotions, explosions and energy that got highly appreciated by media and fans worldwide. This might be the album that put Swedish post rock music on the map and features the track "Hello Scotland" that was played on television, featured on compilations and later on was remixed by some of the worlds greatest artists like Isan (UK-Morr music), Stafrænn Hákon (IS-Resonant) and Uzi & Ari (US)…

The Evpatoria Report was born in January 2002 and the band consists of two guitars, a bass, drums, a violin and a keyboard. The band offers an instrumental rock combining serenity, power and intensity. The Evpatoria Report is a brilliant band. Their music feels interstellar, putting you in the body of an astronaut as they float among the stars. It can be calming just as much as it is suspenseful while you sit in anticipation for the unknown. It is the flawlessness in how human this music sounds that makes this album so powerful. The songs are long, giving the music plenty of room to breathe and create tension and do with it as it pleases…

Fughu is a progressive metal band originating from Buenos Aires, Argentina. They were formed in 1999, but it wasn't until 2009 that they released their debut album titled "Absence". The album can be described as progressive metal in the vein of Dream Theater in Symphony X, though Fughu does have their own sound. It contains 12 songs, and is definitely worth a listen for someone looking for some good new progressive metal.
2013 was a much busier year in the recording studio as the band simultaneously released two albums: "Human (The Tales)" and "Human (The Facts)"…

Khatsaturjan is a present Finnish Progressive rock band whose name is a tribute to the most famous classical composer of the Soviet Union. The musicians making-up this non-standard band are all talented multi-instrumentalists, singing and performing keyboards, on top of their main device (Bass, drums, guitar & cello). Released in 2006 by the Musea label, "Aramed Forces Of Simantipak" is their first official album. This is a rock symphony of 70 minutes, no less! And this is similar to the best albums of the like that were recorded in the Seventies, as far as fusion between classical music and rock is concerned. Even if its style can evoke that of Genesis, Yes or Gentle Giant for the complexity of the vocal parts, this symphony reveals especially an outstanding musical identity…

Submarine Silence is an Italian group that was born from the idea of Mellow Records owner Mauro Moroni. The group can be regarded as a side-project of the neo-progressive group Moongarden. Based on the idea of Mr. Moroni, the Moongarden keyboardist Cristiano Roversi founded the group. The group consists of Cristiano Roversi (keyboards), David Cremoni (guitars) and Emilio Pizzoccoli (drums & percussions). David Cremoni is also a member of Moongarden. Bass sounds are made by Taurus pedals. The band first appeared in a Genesis tribute "The River of Constant Change - A Tribute to Genesis". In 2001 they released the self-titled debut album. It is very Genesis inspired instrumental progressive. Even the album artwork resembles "Foxtrot" and it is by the same artist Paul Whitehead. In 2002 they also appeared in the Finnish Kalevala project.
