No, Anne Pacéo is not a "jazz drummer" like the others. Nothing surprising then that her fourth album is also … different? With Circles, stylistic borders fade, received ideas crumble and creativity turbines at full throttle! Between songs and instrumental thrusts, telluric rhythms and libertarian breaths, these Circles unfold an organic groove, poetic and inspired. Solidly anchored in the current jazz scene but always eager for "other" collaborations, as was the case with Jeanne Added, Mélissa Laveaux and China Mose, Anne Paceo surrounded herself here with singer Leila Martial, saxophonist Emile Parisien and Tony Paeleman for keyboards. The drummer says it herself, this opus was designed differently. "Circles is the culmination of a long-term success over the last four years..
"Circles" is the second album from Porcupine Tree drummer Gavin Harrison and the multi-instrumentalist, singer and extended range bass player 05Ric. This 2 disc Kscope edition includes the original album, plus a 5.1 surround mix of the album. The project is the result of a chance meeting between the two, which led to one of the most interesting musical collaborations in recent years. "Circles" picks up from where their debut album "Drop" left off. The 10 songs feature Ric's phenomenal extended range bass playing and haunting vocals, alongside Gavin Harrison's typically atypical mind-bending rhythmic designs.
Arctic Circles 1: "Artists such as Biosphere, Ultraviolet, Illumination, Mental Overdrive, Krisp, Ismistik, Aedena Cycle and Motion Control have through their output on various european labels drawn attention to the norwegian underground techno/electronica scene, often reffered to as the "Arctic Scene". Small idealistic lables such as +47, Love OD and Beatservice Records have been a part of establishing and maintaining this scene, who excists well hidden behind the more commercial rave culture. Finally, Beatservice Records have put together a compilation which has turned out to be a "tour de force" of the arctic scene. "Arctic Circles - a collection of sub zero soundscapes"…
Seven - a team with not the most original name, but with non-trivial sound. The group's music - a mixture of experimental nu metal, metal matrix and electronics. And although the repertoire Seven - hard heavy composition, complex rhythms and ripped solo here is not the goal (as opposed to the creativity of many colleagues), and the funds are used to create a futuristic atmosphere. Many of the songs have scientific roots, from physics to philosophy.
