The revolutionary Drums And Wires, from 1979, is the second in a series of expanded XTC album reissues, including 5.1 Surround mixes, new stereo mixes and High-Resolution stereo mixes of the original material, along with a wealth of extra audio and visual material. Steven Wilson produced the mixes with the input of founder band member Andy Partridge and the full approval of the band. This cd/blu-ray edition is presented in special packaging with an expanded booklet and sleeve-notes by Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding and Dave Gregory.
The second recording by Old and New Dreams was, like its first from three years earlier, named after the group. Trumpeter Don Cherry, tenor saxophonist Dewey Redman, bassist Charlie Haden, and drummer Ed Blackwell made for a mighty team, performing high-quality free bop in the tradition of the Ornette Coleman Quartet (of which they were all alumni). In addition to two of Ornette's tunes (including a lengthy exploration of "Lonely Woman"), the musicians each contributed an original of their own. Stirring music in a setting that always brought out the best in each of these musicians.
20 Jazz Funk Greats is the third studio album by industrial music pioneers Throbbing Gristle, recorded in August 1979 and released in December 1979 by the band's record label Industrial. Despite its tongue-in-cheek title and stylistic diversions, the album generally continued the group's work in industrial and electronic music. It has been characterized as the band's best work.
Love City album for sale by Ronn Matlock was released Mar 26, 2013 on the Warner Bros. label. Though journalist-turned-crooner-songwriter Ronn Matlock is not known to many fans of '70s soul, his lone album is evidence of an overlooked talent.
