The Complete Motown Singles has been a dream project of Motown and soul fanatics for many years, ever since the first decade of Stax/Volt singles was compiled in an impressive nine-disc box set in 1991. The Complete Motown Singles might have seemed like a logical move to soul collectors and fanatics, but it remained in the realm of fantasy for many years because, as enticing as that set was, it was difficult to create.

Prof. Wolfff ‎- Prof. Wolfff

Label: Metronome/MLP 15.422/180g Deluxe Edition | Original Release: 1972 | Genre: Krautrock

Essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock music.
PROF. WOLFFF, a german band from Ulm, started in the early 70's and unfortunately produced only one album. Remarkable is the use of lyrics in german similar to FLOH DE COLOGNE. Despite that the band never had a political approach the lyrics are provoking a lot though trying to digest the rebellious times in which they lived. This is combined with the typical mix of blues, folk and psychedelia which can be also defined as krautrock. As a result, other musicians must have been inspired for sure to compose rock songs using the native german language. The band was busy with gigs all over Germany and also had a TV appearance.
Wallenstein ‎- Mother Universe (1972 -2008) Pilz/20 29113-8 - DE 180g Pressing - LP In 24bit/96kHz - ONLY RE-POST

Label: ZYX Music /OHR 70031-1, Pilz/20 29113-8 | Original Release: 1972 | This Reissue: 2008 | Genre: Symphonic-Rock

Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection.
Does Wallenstein's "Mother Universe", their second album, hold it's own with their astounding debut "Blitzkrieg"? My answer is yes. There are some differences in this second effort, but also some continuity with it's predecessor, with the result being an album that holds it's own, but is still classic Wallenstein.
The differences are that this album has real vocals, the songs are shorter, and the mixing of instruments is sometimes altered. On some tracks in Mother Universe, Jurgen Dollase's keyboard work is less to the fore than on Blitzkrieg, and the resultant song feel in some cases leans more towards a psych direction than a classical music structure.

It's amazing and fascinating to know how FOCUS were (and still are) popular in Brazil. They are good and really deserved that distinction but I also realize that their first output came in a moment that part of the younger generation was eager to some new sounds, experiences and perspectives - a new focus, indeed. Those kids that became teenagers in late 60s had received musical information coming from BEATLES, MOODY BLUES, PROCOL HARUM, early FLOYD and CRIMSON, and so they were naturally looking for novelties, a niche filled amongst other by FOCUS.
