In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

An important book for Christians.Thank you Mr. Hitchens for writing this book. You, Dawkins, Harris, Gore - and others - are voices of reason crying out in the widerness aagainst the INSANITY of the disgusting, stomach turning Christio-fascism being foisted upon us. America - and the world - is doomed if we don't turn this around and head back to reason and common sense

The British/Norwegian Food duo of Iain Ballamy and Thomas Strønen are joined again by Austrian guitarist and electronics player Christian Fennesz for a new album of powerful grooves, evocative textures and exploratory improvisation, sometimes hypnotically insistent, sometimes turbulent. The project was recorded with engineer Ulf Holand and mixed together with Manfred Eicher the first time Eicher and Holand have collaborated since Nils Petter Molvaer s Khmer, almost 20 years ago. Thomas Strønen describes the sound of This Is Not A Miracle as heavier, dryer, connecting more with how we actually sound live.

The title song is a lively, swinging piece. Wess leads on tenor sax, backed by a five-piece horn section. Drummer Winard Harper plays a standard rhythm on the hi-hat, but also mixes in some adept splash-and-crash cymbal work, as well as some rim shots. Scott Robinson contributes a baritone sax solo while bassist Peter Washington comes through here and there.
