The Battalia à 10 is played with great style and charm here. I like the use of two theorbos and a harpsichord and organ on the continuo lines. I have several recordings of this work. Savall's approach is a little more polite than Goebel's and a little more atmospheric than Philip Pickett's quite raw sound. I like all of them. Savall's is, perhaps, the most beautiful recording, even though it doesn't take advantage of the musical effects Biber suggests with as much relish as Goebel or Pickett…

The most feared aircraft in the Air Force arsenal, the A-10 Tankbuster was the first aircraft in U.S. aviation history designed specifically for Close Air Support. Its ability to support ground troops, to take out enemy positions and tanks and act as a spotter plane have made it one of the most successful jets of recent times. From its first taste of battle in Desert Storm to the recent assault on Baghdad, the A-10 carries enough weaponry into battle to disable 16 main battle tanks, and with its amazing 30 millimeter 7-barrelled cannon, the "Flying Gun" dominates the skies. This episode chronicles the combat history of the "Warthog" and features interviews with current pilots who share combat experiences and take you for an unforgettable flight in the A-10.

In this set of tutorials, we'll take a step by step approach to drawing a lumber construction detail. We'll start from the ground up and begin with the foundation. We'll learn how to use Polylines and Hatching to get the foundation in place.Next, we'll draw the sill plate and studs included in the detail. While we draw each element in the detail, we'll be sure to manage our Linetypes, Layers and Hatch Patterns accordingly in order to create a well organized drawing. Finally, we'll add some text and leaders to reinforce the graphic components of our drawing.

In this set of tutorials you'll learn how to draw a stair detail in AutoCAD. We'll begin the project by using Polylines to draw the basic form of the treads. Once we have the form in place we'll then draw the stringers and landing. We'll finish out the drawing by adding some handrails and balusters as well as text and dimensions. While working with our drawing we'll be sure to adhere to the code requirements which can be found in the International Building Code. By the end of this training you'll have a solid understanding of what it takes to draw a professional looking and code compliant stair detail for your permit set of drawings.

Having earned his composing stripes after the 1960s, John Adams had the pioneering work of Steve Reich, Philip Glass, and Terry Riley close at hand as he ventured into his trade. And, while minimalism's historical continuum helps place Adams, he used Reich, Glass, and Riley (among others) only as a starting point. And here's proof: a 10-CD retrospective of nearly all Adams's recorded compositions on Nonesuch Records, the label that also issued Steve Reich 1965-1995 and Kronos Quartet: 25 Years. Adams's Harmonium, a choral work of startling energy and effervescence, appears here in a new recording, as do distillations of both The Death of Klinghoffer and Nixon in China, two path-clearing operas.
