The Oxford Book of Traditional Verse felt as strongly, writing that Taylor was "one of the most literate and sensitive of contemporary songwriters in terms of words and music and one who is capable of exploring more complex subjects than most of his contemporaries." German band formed in early 1960's, previously known as the Skiffle Lords. Known for their fashionable attire and 'Prince Valiant' style haircuts. By 1964 they were awarded the title "The German Beatles" in Hamburg's Star Club of Germany. Currently still active, released a new CD album in 2015 titled "Now More Than Ever!" Although Germany had its place in rock & roll's evolution in the 1960s, it was primarily as an incubator for British bands playing grueling stints in Hamburg, not for homegrown talent. The Lords were about the best of a weak scene, populated by bands that could never seem to shake themselves free of stodgy Central European oom-pah folk traditions…

Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen were a long-haired, flannel-wearing, good-time party band that got started in the late '60s. What set them apart from the majority of other bands at the time was they had more in common with old Bob Wills records than anything Jimi Hendrix ever recorded…

Retrospective that highlights the best film scores from the acclaimed soundtrack composer. Though best known for his work in many of the Bond films, Barry has composed many other great movie themes during his 40+ year career Not only does this collection include Bond classics like 'Goldfinger' and 'Diamonds Are Forever' (both sung by Dame Shirley Bassey), it also features many other musical moments from films like 'Midnight Cowboy', 'Dances With Wolves', 'Out Of Africa', 'Born Free'(sung by Matt Monro) and more. Like John Williams, Barry's style is easily identifiable yet each theme is unique in it's own way.

Features 24 bit remastering and comes with a mini-description. Different is right – as this obscure early 60s side shows Chico Hamilton really opening up, moving past the modern chamber style of the late 50s, into the freer modal rhythms that characterized his incredible work of the 60s! The group's the beginning of that sound too – with Charles Lloyd on tenor and flute, Gabor Szabo on guitar, and Albert Stinson on bass – joined by George Bohannon on trombone, who slides around the grooves to expand the bottom of the album's sound nicely!
