A few years ago, acclaimed East African vocalist & songwriter Somi decided to move from New York City to Lagos, Nigeria for 18 months in search of new inspiration. The result: a new album she calls The Lagos Music Salon released in August 2014 as her major label debut on Sony Music/Okeh - landing at #1 on US Jazz charts. The album, which features special guests Angelique Kidjo, Common and Ambrose Akinmusire, draws it material from the tropical city's boastful cosmopolitanism, urgent inspiration, and giant spirit - straddling the worlds of African jazz, soul, and pop with a newfound ease and a voice that Vogue Magazine simply calls “Superb!”

An Italian band from Perugia with a very long story, that hadn't left any recordings until recently, apart from a lonely track on a rare split promo single. L'Estate di San Martino was created in 1975 to provide the musical background to a theatre play with a sound mostly based on acoustic guitars, flute and percussion. In 1978 the group took part in the Centocittà contest, reaching the final show in Capri and winning the chance of recording the single "Il Bimbo e l'Eroe". The record was released, but only in promotional form. In the following years the line-up became stable with the addition of new musicians to enrich the sound, with use of keyboards, electric guitar and drums, and the group had an intense live activity mostly in Umbria, with shows based on concept projects, and long tracks with large instrumental parts…

Apotheosis (2007). About 70 mins of chilled psychedelic atmospheres brings you melodies of relax. In January 2007 Sundial changed their name to Sundial Aeon and the result of new work is the amazing album 'Apotheosis'. Sundial Aeon was formed since Autumn 2005 in Poland by creative ideas of one Aural Planet's artists Raiden/Radoslaw Kochman, Daniel Lulkowski/Dan (Hoyden Space) and two other musicians, Jaroslaw Jacek/Giku and Patryk Gegniewicz/Revisq (both from the Electronic Act Itoa). The properly balanced atmosphere of all the tracks does not overstep the boundaries of bland electronic sweetness…

If3 continues in the same jazz-rock vein as its predecessors, with strong solo work from reedmen Dave Quincy and Dick Morrissey, and the unique fretwork of fleet-fingered guitarist Terry Smith. The material is more pop-oriented than on the band's previous releases, but it's the jazz chops of the players that place this album a notch or two above those of the other bands working this genre in the early 1970s.

"…In short, this CD is a delight from begin to end. It will make you want to see and hear the two pieces performed live because only then can one fully enjoy the virtuosic playfulness and beauty of the musical interchange between the two pianos in the Concerto in E flat major; not to mention the pure divertimento of the Concerto in F major, which is a recreational, uplifting and entertaining." ~musicweb-international

The cosmos were certainly aligned on this trio-centric evening. What was originally scheduled as a night with King Crimson at the Birchmere Music Hall in Alexandria, VA – on the third day of the third month of the third year of the new millennium – turned into the trifecta of ProjeKct Three. The (literally) eleventh hour change in format, as well as the conspicuous absence of Adrian Belew (guitar/vocals), were due to the artist's (obviously) unexpected illness. Rather than call the whole show off, the decision was made that Robert Fripp (guitar), Trey Gunn (touch guitar/talker), and Pat Mastelotto (electronic percussion) would re-form the King Crimson offshoot fraKctal ProjeKct Three for one very special occasion. These ProjeKcts were implemented after the 1997 dissolution of King Crimson's double-trio reincarnation.

By the first two "The Future Is My Melody" compilations, the german based Elektrolux label, home of well-known and benchmarking compilation series like Space Night or Flowmotion, already proved that Ambient and Pop may be complementary in a most sensual way. Finally, the fascination of the human voice is essential in electronic music as well. Therefore, the third volume of "Future Is My Melody" illustrates the modernity and internationality of a pop understanding which could not be further apart from casting shows and one-hit-wonder-phenomena…
