The tour promoted the recent 'It's Hard' album, which had been released in June 1982, and the set list included a number of tracks from that album, some of which the band would only play live on this tour. This concert film features the show from the second of their two nights at New York's Shea Stadium and was filmed on October 13th 1982. Although a couple of tracks have appeared on compilations, this is the first official release of the full show and features restored footage and newly mixed sound. The release includes Bonus tracks from the first night at Shea Stadium.

Three months after the album's release, Rolling Stone's Alec Dubro reviewed Silk Purse in the magazine's June 25 issue. "Some of the material is raw imitation and some is more original, but none is very far from the soul of the singer," Dubro wrote. "It is Linda Ronstadt's voice that makes this record; she endows the songs with a feeling that she has shown since the first Stone Poneys' album, and she has developed her Country style considerably since her last album."Lester Bangs of Penthouse also reviewed the album: "Linda Ronstadt's vocal style is like her physical presence: brimming with passion and vulnerability, tremulous, yet possessed of a core of absolute strength."

Gabor Szabo was one of the most original guitarists to emerge in the 1960s, mixing his Hungarian folk music heritage with a deep love of jazz and crafting a distinctive, largely self-taught sound. Inspired by a Roy Rogers cowboy movie.

Released just six months after Gypsy '66, Gabor Szabo's second album as a leader (after leaving a sublime Chico Hamilton band that also included Charles Lloyd) remains one of his finest moments in the studio. Szabo utilized the tales of bassist Ron Carter and his old boss Hamilton on drums, as well as a pair of fine Latin percussionists – Willie Bobo and Victor Pantoja. The groove quotient was very high on Spellbinder, maybe even higher than on later albums such as Jazz Raga or Sorcerer.
One of the finest Guitar Jazz Album !!!

Joy Division are rivalled only by The Velvet Underground in the establishment of such an influential legacy with such a small canon of recorded work. When their career was abruptly re-routed by the suicide of singer Ian Curtis in 1980, they had recorded just two complete albums and were still a month away from their biggest hit, “Love Will Tear Us Apart” - which has endured to become as universally adored an English pop classic as “Waterloo Sunset”. Uncut.

Berlin-based pianist Julia Hülsmann returns to the trio format for Sooner And Later, an album which distils the experience of journeys to distant destinations. In the last couple of years Hülsmann, bassist Marc Muellbauer and drummer Heinrich Köbberling have taken their music around the world, from Europe to the North & South America, Central Asia and China, where something special developed. Once again all three members of the trio have contributed compositions to the album. The title of Hulsmann's Thatpujai is an anagram of Jutta Hipp, and its theme is comprised of phrases from the late German jazz pianist's solos. The program is rounded out by a cover of Radiohead's All I Need which, like the Hülsmann-penned tracks J.J., Soon or Mond with their sometimes almost clubby grooves, emphasizes the subtle rhythmic aspects of the trio's music.
